About

Adwoa Botchey and Solomon Adebiyi, the creative couple behind Adeche Atelier, are celebrated storytellers, artists, and content creators who have spent the past five years redefining how African mythology, folklore, and culture are represented in contemporary art and media.

Known for their distinctive practice of painting every piece simultaneously, their work is deeply rooted in African spiritual systems, oral traditions, and heritage. Together, they aim to dismantle long-held misconceptions around African mythology and spirituality; offering bold, beautiful reimaginings that educate and inspire.

With a combined audience of over half a million followers across social platforms, Adeche Atelier has become a leading voice in the resurgence of African mythology in the global cultural conversation. They’ve been commissioned to create paintings by major institutions, including The National Gallery London, BBC Arts, the Fitzwilliam Museum Cambridge, and EA Games in collaboration with Black Girl Gamers. As content creators, they’ve also produced digital content for The Walker Art Gallery in Liverpool and The Hayward Gallery, helping to invite and engage more diverse audiences into these spaces.

Born out of a shared love for storytelling, mythology, and artistic expression, Adeche Atelier began when the couple met as architecture students at the Manchester School of Architecture. What started as a creative partnership soon evolved into a movement.

Today, their work spans canvas, podcasting, and content creation. Their podcast, Afro Mythos, explores the stories, deities, and spiritual systems that shaped Africa before colonisation, offering listeners a rich and accessible entry point into these traditions.

Through their work, Adwoa and Solomon invite audiences of all backgrounds to reconnect with the array of stories and deep history within the African continent and reimagine its past, present, and future with pride.
